About Me

As a psychotherapist and creative arts therapist with over 30 years of experience, I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults, especially those who have experienced childhood trauma. Our childhood experiences shape who we are today and can interfere with our adult experiences. But we do not have to be stuck in old patterns, and transformation is possible with self-awareness and building new coping skills.

I understand that expressing feelings through words can sometimes not be enough. That's why, as needed, I incorporate creative arts therapy, offering powerful, alternative outlets for emotional expression. Whether through drama, art, or other forms of embodied creative exploration, these additional therapies provide a meaningful way to process emotions, build resilience, and foster personal growth. I also offer group work.

If you're seeking a compassionate, personalized therapeutic experience, I'm here to support you on your healing journey.

Beyond the Therapy Room: Dramasol

In addition to my private counseling practice, I am the founder of Dramasol, a platform dedicated to training, speaking, and consulting for clinicians, educators, and organizations who work with youth.

Through Dramasol, I share the evidence-based ENACT Drama Therapy Method; a framework I developed over 30 years that uses dramatic play, improvisation, and embodied communication to help young people release trauma and step out of the protective roles that hold them back.

My work through Dramasol includes professional development workshops, conference speaking, and my book Stuck in a Role: Releasing Trauma in Teens Through the ENACT Drama Therapy Method, a practical guide for anyone supporting adolescents through trauma and behavioral challenges.

'Stuck in a Role: Releasing Trauma in Teens Through the ENACT Drama Therapy Method' by Diana J. Feldman. Diana Feldman Counseling NYC, Licensed Creative Arts therapist for children and adults, Holistic therapy for mind and emotions

Stuck in a Role illustrates how adolescents—especially those who experienced developmental trauma—can become “stuck” in protective roles that cause behavioral challenges during their formative years.

The goal is to help individuals become self-aware as they move past the barriers and connect back to their true selves, allowing for emotional integration and conscious transformation.”
