Making a dramatic difference

For thirty years, Diana Feldman served as the founding director of ENACT, whose mission was to use the power of effective interactive theater and drama therapy to increase every student’s social and emotional skills for success in school and life.

Over the years, Feldman’s “Show Up” specialized therapeutic performances, created and performed by professional actors with participants of all ages and abilities, were performed at various NYC off-Broadway theaters. This breakthrough approach allowed individuals to tap into their creativity and strengths to express their voice in a powerful and meaningful way. Issues addressed included politics, immigration, bullying, racism, LGBTQ discrimination.

“ENACT has long been an essential partner in the City Council’s goal to make schools more safe and inviting places to learn and tonight’s performance is another great example of why we continue this partnership,” said City Council Speaker Christine Quinn. “I thank Diana Feldman and ENACT for their continued dedication to the children of New York City.”
