“These kids gave me life yesterday. Their play was the realest portrayal of the climate for teens in America that I’ve seen thus far.”
—Hawk Newsome, BLM with Cynthia Germanotta, founder of “Born this way Foundation” & Lady Gaga’s Mother
As an outgrowth of some of Feldman’s work, she has developed an organic process with groups to help them find and express their voice around pertinent life issues such as bullying, violence, LGBTQ discrimination and racism.
The process is for non-actors, but Feldman often brings in professional actors to work side by side with individuals of all ages and abilities.
Following is a short list:
A short play on bullying: National Conference on Bully Prevention sponsored by City Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn and The New York Times – streamed live on Time Warner cable television
Finding the Words – a play expressing parents’ concerns about their roles in their children’s education
Searching For Peace – a play reflecting the effects of the Columbine shootings on NYC students
Project Peace – a music CD that grew out of a songwriting and theater series
Show UP – a play about dropout prevention.
